The Downtown Community Television Center or DCTV is an independant media arts center located in Manhattan. It was founded in 1972 by award-winning documentary film director Jon Alpert and his wife, Keiko Tsuno. DCTV has fostered a diverse and inclusive media arts community for fourty-four productive years. It creates a platform for people to tell their unfiltered stories by providing professional training and high-end documentary productions. The rebranding communicates the forward-looking vibrancy of DCTV with bold colors and a modern reinterpretation of their 1972 stencil logo. This is a project for Kevin Brainard's class, part of the Designer as Author and Entrepreneur MFA program at the School of Visual Arts.
