The Food Dealer
The Food Dealer (2014) is a neighborhood deli in Beirut that offers sandwiches and salads, good coffee, an array of fresh products, charcuterie, and flowers. The friendly setting is reflected in the typographic identity, casual photographic style and versatile colorful packaging design. I was the lead designer and photographer on this project during my work at Studio Safar.

Photography appears on the menus and different social media posts, capturing casual everyday settings.

We opted for illustration on the placemats, mapping the neighborhood and highlighting the different shops, restaurants, bars, and pharmacies nearby, thus integrating The Food Dealer in the surrounding lively community. Illustration by Aya Krisht.

We designed typographic design templates, creating a flexible packaging system adjusting to The Food Dealer’s frequently altered menu; the client can amend the templates and print them on colorful stickers. The label is then stuck on recycled bags and boxes, creating a sustainable and adjustable system.
